The 2021/22 PCSA Executive Team

The faces behind the hard work.

Matt Major (4th Year Pharmacology)

Matt Major (4th Year Pharmacology)

President

I joined PCSA because the club connects and supports students in the Pharmacology and CAPS programs and it is a great opportunity to give back to these communities. I especially appreciate the numerous connections that I have made and the club and hope to continue to foster these between new and senior students.

Fun fact: In a past life I almost pursued a career in journalism after I interviewed Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield.

Carly Wang (5th Year Biochemistry)

Carly Wang (5th Year Biochemistry)

VP External

I happened to already enjoy this club before it split from Biochemistry (this was previously BPP) and thus wanted to stay behind and involve myself as a club executive. I just want to help increase interest in similar majors and Life Sciences, and increase awareness about different types of majors first year science students can apply for 🙂

Fun fact: I have a senior shih-tzu dog you might see me walking around with on campus !! Say hi and pet her!

Quentin Michalchuk (4th Year Pharmacology)

Quentin Michalchuk (4th Year Pharmacology)

VP Internal

I joined PCSA as a way to get to know everybody in Pharmacology and CAPS better. After online school, I think it is more important than ever that we make great connections with the awesome people in our majors. I believe that PCSA is just the way to facilitate this!

Fun fact: I love storms 🙂

Jenicia Zhen (3rd Year Pharmacology)

Jenicia Zhen (3rd Year Pharmacology)

VP Finance

PCSA is a great place that allows me to connect with people with the same goals and passion as me, to learn and grow from various event planning experiences, and to use my knowledge to further provide support and resources to future students. Joining PCSA since first year, I have made lots of memorable connections, acquired lots of opportunities to build my skills, and had lots of unforgettable memories with the club. I would like to continue to serve the club this year and create a place where pharmacology and CAPS students can relax, receive support, and feel a sense of belonging.

Fun fact: I love to travel, and to collect postcards from all around the world!

Angela Zhang (3rd Year CAPS)

I am grateful for all the advice and guidance provided by the PCSA team during my first two years at UBC, so I decided to become an executive member this year in hopes of making the same impact on other students.

Gita Manhas (4th Year Pharmacology)

Gita Manhas (4th Year Pharmacology)

I joined PCSA to combine my academic passions with a leadership role. My goal is to evolve this student service, using previous experiences to represent my peers and influence new opportunities engaging pharmacology and physiology students.

Fun fact: In my free time you can probably find me saving lives… at the pool (I’m a lifeguard)!
